Porter College’s Annual EnCore Festival Highlights the Fine Art of Learning

On December 7, 2023, the EnCore festival marked the culmination of the Core Course for Porter first-year students. The exhibition featured hundreds of student art and book projects, created through Creative Commons, an art studio associated with Porter 1.

On December 6, 2023, Cowell College's final plenary session culminated in a thought-provoking event with Pulitzer Prize-winning author Viet Thanh Nguyen. The gathering, held at UC Santa Cruz, brought together students who had explored Nguyen's work as part of Cowell College's core course, "Imagining Justice."

This position is the first step towards the formation of the Academic Integrity Office (AIO) at UC Santa Cruz. The AIO will reimagine the university’s approach to academic ethics, with a focus on student-centered learning, mentorship, and restorative justice.

UC Santa Cruz continues to build a solid transfer and frosh applicant pool

As part of the strategy to increase transfer enrollment for fall 2019, UC Santa Cruz continued to accept transfer applications until Jan. 4. As of Jan. 7, the campus received more than 11,700 transfer applications, a 1.2% increase over the past year.

Jesse Pikorz is an Evaluation Analyst at the Educational Partnership Center (EPC). He analyzes data from schools around the county, creating reports and managing the Center’s database, ultimately to help disadvantaged students succeed in postsecondary education.
